Conquering the ‘Real’ World – Your Interpersonal Relationship With the Job Market as a College Senior
College students on the brink of graduating are always looking for insight when entering the workforce. It is a time of stress, wonder, ineffable confusion, and searching high and low for assurance that you’re on the right track. As a junior or senior, you are faced with the challenge of standing on the cusp of adulthood, not knowing what to expect in applying and landing a job, learning professionalism, and transitioning out of university and into the real world. Finishing one education only to begin a new one, no longer bound by class schedules and destitute of guidance from career counselors, what can you do to prepare yourself for the next step in the school of life?
On your journey to graduating college and joining the workforce, this webinar series will serve as a reliable resource for you, a student in college and a student of life, to understand and implement a thoughtful approach in thinking about your future and mapping your career path.
In this webinar and the three to follow, you will discover how to manage your mindset to cultivate success in the often fretful endeavor of applying to and landing a job. Led by Richard LeGrand and Vanessa Fontana, two recent college graduates who will guide you every step of the way, from job-fair season to the negotiation of your first salary, insight will be provided on how you can sustain and survive the inalienable transformation of student to professional, how to leverage your natural network, and increase your technical ability to view yourself as an asset, emphasizing the importance of your mental health throughout this process.
This 4-part series will align with the typical timeline of the application and hiring process for college upperclassmen, where the speakers will expatiate on subtopics within each session and invite leaders in the industry who have mastered this undertaking and seen actualized success from these implementable techniques.
